Obviously, I have a serious make-up addiction. It’s very bad. I, like many girls my age believe that make-up is essential to a young girls’ (and guys too!) confidence. I love how make-up can transform a person. So today, I went out to Target and treated myself to some new make-up! Everything in this little haul was under $15. So here are my thoughts on how the new products performed.

This is the new Maybelline Better Skin Concealer. It says to be a full coverage concealer that will hide imperfections for a flawless look. It has salicytic acid in it to help acne and prevent it from coming back. For under the eyes, this is a fabulous concealer. it really brightens the under eyes and brings a lot of life to the skin. As for covering spots, if you have a huge pimple on your face like I do, it does an okay job. It’s not nearly as full coverage as I would like it to be. It’s a doughfoot applicator to apply HOWEVERNever ever never put a doughfoot applicator directly on a pimple. This causes the spread of bacteria and will lead to more breakouts. I should have purchased the darker shade for concealing pimples, this is a bit too fair for me. Overall rate: 8/10

Next, I purchased Rimmel London’s Stay Matte Powder in the Shade 020. I’ve had this product before and I adore it. It does exactly what I need it to do and it’s really lovely. I really don’t have much to say about it because it is such a nice powder. Overall rate: 9/10

This is the NYX Dream Catcher Pallet. When I first saw this my first thought was, “Wow what a gorgeous neutral toned pallet” and it was 10% off too. When I got home all I wanted to do was play around with it and swatch it. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t as impressed with it as much as I had hoped to be. All of the shadows are very powdery and there is a lot of fallout when I first started swatching them and testing them out. There is some consistency with the pigments, most of them are not as pigmented as I wished them to be. Below, I have all the swatches. img_4800

Overall, I think it’s a nice pallet for anyone wanting neutrals and shimmer. Overall rate: 7/10

Finally, the face mask. This mask is made by a company that uses at least 80% or more natural ingredients. It’s said to clear out the pours and leave your skin clear. When I first purchased this, I thought it was like a sheet mask that you applied. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it and say a clay mask! As soon as I applied it, I could smell the witch hazel and tea tree. It gave a tingling sensation on the skin and dried rather quickly. My skin feels very clean, tight, lifted and renewed. I love this product. Overall rate: 10/10

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it was helpful for you to learn about some great drug store products. I’m not sponsored by any of these companies, they are my own personal reviews and thoughts. Have a great night.mstay beautiful.

Feminism… What to Know

Being feminist doesn’t mean that you believe that women need to be babied or that women are better than men. That isn’t the least bit true at all. Being a feminist means that you believe that women should have the same social status, same pay, same  rights as men. In my state in the US, Men get paid annually a little over $61,000 a year, while women get paid $50,000 a year (AAUW table for 2015 reports). Why is this a problem you ask yourself? It is a problem because women are just as capable of doing the work men do. Women should not have this social and intellectual standard. They shouldn’t be expected to clean the house and take after the kids and not have a job. In this day in age, it’s almost impossible to do that with the amount of money needed to support a family. But why must there be a page gap? If women are doing the same amount of work as men, shouldn’t they be paid the same?

I believe also, that all women have the right to contraception and birth control pills. Being on birth control doesn’t mean that you don’t want to have kids period. It means that you’re smart enough to know that the possibility of pregnancy isn’t a risk you’re willing to take at that point in your life. It’s called being RESPONSIBLE. Yes, you can always not have sex and reduce the risk all together, but for some, birth control is a safe, preferred form of protection.

Feminism isn’t about making women look like they’re attention seekers (although some are #sorrynotsorry). Feminism is about empowering women and making women feel like they have a voice. Here are some links to great TedX Talks, commercials and books that discuss feminism and explain what it’s really about.

Probably my favorite:

Emma Watson at the UN:

Fem Talk (she’s awesome and this is perfect for anyone wanting to know more) :

I really hope this helped you to understand feminism more and that you have a better understanding of it! If your opinions don’t match mine, that’s totally fine! Just be yourself and stay strong in your morals and that’s all that matters to me!

Love Always,
